NASA Invests in Suspended Animation

SpaceWorks® … Human Stasis To Mars

NASA is continuing their research to have people on Mars by 2030. One of the ways they are doing this is with $500,000 rewards for futuristic ideas that are laid out and possible. The space juggernaut wants to make space exploration more effective.

One concept that is being worked on is human hibernation. It will take nine months to reach Mars. NASA wants to reduce some costs and to improve on participants ability to travel through space for this period of time.

There is also a concept being worked on that is designed to help with the ability to grow food in space. The concern is that with Mars being a potentially unstable planet for plant growth, there needs to be alternative means for growing fresh fruit and vegetables. After all, it is uncertain what participants in the Mars mission might experience on the planet if they were to attempt to grow their food there.

These are just some of the incredible projects that are planned with others in the works. As NASA continues to move forward, it is expected that up to eight total projects will be underway and that each of them will help NASA to remain some of the top leaders in all of the space programs.
