Radcliffe Wave

Did you know the gas that forms stars was recently discovered just outside our solar system? This gas covers a massive 9,000 light years, has been dubbed the Radcliffe Wave, and has a sine wave.  Those with a keen eye will note that the wave is named after the Radcliffe University which is well known for its empowerment of female astronomers.

Despite the fact it was recently discovered isn’t a cause for alarm. Scientists estimated that the Earth likely passed through the wave 13 million years ago.

This is truly one of the most incredible recent finds in space.
