Mars 2020 Rover

Space Robots Take a Leap in Size for Mars Expedition

A new robot is traveling the 33.9 million miles from Earth to Mars by 2020. It will feature more advanced technology than the last four robots and have 23 modern cameras to use for taking better pictures! Scientists are excited about the opportunity to create 3D images and improve terrain maps of the Red Planet.

Better technology saves processing time and provides faster results for research. Video cameras and a state-of-the-art microphone will record the rover’s descent to Mars’ surface. Like other NASA missions, the footage will be shared with the public. Follow the Popsci.com link for more details.
